Dr Angela Wright is a GP, Clinical Sexologist and BMS Advanced Menopause Specialist. Her training allows her to bring medicine, psychosexual therapy and trauma-informed care into the same conversation, supporting people with hormonal health, intimacy and the experiences that shape both.

Angela is the current BSSM Secretary, coSRH Menopause Guardian and Expert Working Group Lead. She teaches the biomedical module for the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology (CICS) course and is committed to integrated, evidence-led education for patients and healthcare professionals.
Her clinical interests include menopause, sexuality, HRT, testosterone, sexual dysfunction, relationship intimacy, trauma, PMDD, neurodivergence and cancer-related menopause and sexual wellbeing.

Angela’s work is informed by postgraduate medical, menopause, sexology, psychosexual therapy, trauma and neurodiversity training. Each area helps her understand symptoms in context - not as isolated problems.

Angela trained in medicine at the University of Leeds and as a GP in Airedale, before working for 14 years as a GP partner in Masham, North Yorkshire. She is a Member of the Royal College of GPs, the gold-standard training and qualification for General Practitioners.

FECSM is widely regarded as the gold-standard qualification in clinical sexology. Angela achieved Fellowship after attending the European Society of Sexual Medicine’s Advanced School of Sexual Medicine and passing the MJCSM examination.

Together with her Spiced Pear Health colleague Dr Angela Sharma and Cambridge Centre Head, Lisa Punt, Angela helped establish and roll out menopause and andropause workshops across the UK for Maggie’s Centres, and continues to regularly participate in delivering these sessions.
The workshops have generated research presented as posters at national and international conferences, highlighting gaps in care for women and men affected by cancer and the impact of targeted support and education.
